Your cost depends on the model, the tokens it uses, and how many times the agent needs to iterate. Short, focused requests generally cost less than work across many files or a long conversation.

Choose a model before starting a task. PostHog Desktop shows cost information as you work, so you can use a lower-cost model for straightforward tasks and a more capable model when the work needs it.
Track and control spending
Open Plan & usage in PostHog Desktop to see spend by day and model and set an organization billing limit. You can also review total monthly consumption in the billing overview and billing usage pages.
The Plan & usage view updates in real time. Organization billing pages can take up to 24 hours to update.
A billing limit prevents additional use after your organization reaches the amount you choose. Raise the limit to continue sending messages. Automated billing emails notify you as usage reaches key thresholds.
